Inventory of cultural heritage in Gabon
CULTURE

Gabon currently has two properties inscribed on the World Heritage List, the Lopé – Okanda Ecosystem and Relict Cultural Landscape and the Ivindo National Park, inscribed in 2021, during the extended 44th session of the World Heritage Committee (Fuzhou, China).
Its indicative list includes 6 properties: one cultural property (Former Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Lambaréné) and five mixed properties (Pygmy ecosystem and cultural landscape of the Minkébé massif, Lastourville Caves, Birougou Mountains National Park, Batéké Plateaux National Park and Moukalaba-Doudou National Park). We can therefore observe the presence of only one cultural property, which constitutes a significant gap.
